Yes. Wilshire Internal Medicine is a concierge (or retainer-based) medical practice. This model limits the number of patients so each person receives highly personalized attention, direct physician access, and same-day availability.
Terms such as concierge medicine, direct primary care, and retainer-based medicine all describe this approach.
-
Our physicians are board-certified in internal medicine, specializing in the care of adults. Unlike general practitioners or family physicians—who treat patients of all ages—internists focus exclusively on adult health.
As your primary physicians, we coordinate your overall care, consulting with specialists and overseeing treatment plans to ensure continuity and quality across every stage of care.
-
The retainer allows our physicians to maintain smaller patient panels and provide the highest level of personalized care and access.
It ensures that your physician is available whenever needed—whether for an office visit, a hospital consultation, or direct communication—and that your primary-care costs remain predictable. -
Wilshire Internal Medicine is not contracted with and does not receive payment from any insurance company. However, most patients maintain insurance to cover outside expenses such as specialist visits, diagnostic imaging, or hospital care.
-
Yes. Services provided in our office—such as vaccinations and EKGs—are included in the annual fee.

-
For urgent matters, physicians are accessible by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Non-urgent concerns are addressed promptly during regular office hours. -
No. Hospital visits and in-hospital coordination of care by your physician are included in the monthly fee.
-
When a physician is away, coverage is provided by another Wilshire Internal Medicine physician. Because the practice size is limited and physicians collaborate closely, your care remains seamless.
